Last night as we were leaving our newly found tradition of “Family Meal” at a local restaurant, one of my adult children approached me, privately and said, “Mama, we have such a great family! Everyone is so positive and happy, nothing ever is said that is negative. It makes me really happy to be apart for this great family!”

When Matt and I first married, and were blessed with #1, I wanted the very best, holy, and happy child! If you want the very best, you research until your heart over flows…and I did! Old Catholic books, older child rearing booklets, older ladies at Joann Fabric, the checker at Walmart, Sam’s…you name it! Anytime I could visit with an older lady, I was all ears!! How did the older generations raise such strong, holy, happy children? They were most eager to tell their stories, as I was to take notes.

So the journey began. I did the job that was handed to me and I put in my 100%, with zero doubt God would lead me to the correct path. I’ve had my doubts along the way…trust me! But I’ve never lost faith! Am I perfect, no ma’am! Are my children perfect? No ma’am! But something went right, holiness and happiness was kept along the way…and for that, I am so grateful.

16 By their fruits you shall know them. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit, and the evil tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can an evil tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit, shall be cut down, and shall be cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits you shall know them [Matthew 7:20] DRV
